Helping Young Readers (PAUSD)
Limited Capacity filling up

How can parents help at home when they have a struggling reader?  It is so understandable for parents/caregivers to worry -- this hands-on session will give you specific tools and easy, engaging strategies to make learning at home less stressful, and more positive, productive, and fun for everyone. Walter Hays Elementary School Phono-Graphix tutor Carrie Manley will lead this interactive session, introducing you to an explicit, multi-sensory approach that results in measurable reading gains, and more confident readers.  Carrie will also offer tips for building a strong home-school partnership.  For many PAUSD families, English is not their first language--this inclusive session is here to help and support every parent. Educational professionals interested in learning more about this research-based method are also welcome to attend.
